Hardening the international front against Damascus' continuous crackdown on pro-democracy protesters, the United States slapped new sanctions by freezing assets of Syrian officials, as Europe imposed an arms embargo against President Bashar Al-Assad regime.
"The United States strongly condemns the Syrian government's continued use of violence and intimidation against the Syrian people," the White House said in a statement cited by Agence France Presse (AFP) on Friday, April 29.
